As I was in prayer this morning, tears came, flowed out like a river as I laid my heart out there to the Lord. My mind was mixed with emotions and thoughts that I couldn't untangle by myself and left me a wet mess of tears streaming down my face.
He reminded me in the middle of it all that He collects our tears and remembers each one as written in Psalm 56:8, David says, "You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book".
In Luke 7, a woman, Mary, enters a home where Jesus was dining and she laid it all out there. She gave Him her tears, anointed His feet with oil and wiped his feet with her hair. Jesus did not ignore this beautiful act of faith. In fact He gave her the greatest gift of acceptance and hope because He already knew each tear. It just took Mary to recall Psalm 56 and to realize He was the only One who could wipe them away.
Today I am thankful for tears. I am thankful that there is a God who sees them all, collects each one in a bottle, and once we surrender our mess to Him, He wipes it all away.
Have you let the Lord dry your tears lately? Are there things that you can't carry any more? Thank God that He knows every tear, every burden and thank God that He is powerful and caring enough to handle any burden the world wants to put on your shoulders.
